Chester 1-0 FC Buxton
Buxton made the trip over to Chester for this clash where both teams were in search of a much needed win. FC Buxton were the better team throughout the game with various chances created but with the Chester keeper in inspired form none of them found the back of the net. Chester were awarded a debatable free kick in the 2nd half which was floated into the box, the cat was hampered by his defence who were too deep. The ball fell kindly to a Chester player who slotted home to take a 1-0 advantage. FC carried on pushing forward but with time running out it was always going to be difficult. In stoppage time Chester were continuing with their time wasting tactics (which started in the first half) and the keeper held the ball for about 20 seconds in one hand, Tiff used his initiative and knowledge of the game to nod the ball out of his hands and slot home but the Chester ref wasn't totally sure on the ruling decided a free kick should be awarded! It was a good team display from FC though and some very encouraging signs all we need now is a rub of the green and a out and out striker!
