The second of FC Buxton’s 2010 summer signings, Robbie Keane (as he is actually called) was spotted whilst playing for the Health and Safety Labs’ team against FC. Although like many, FC were priced out a move for his namesake, Robbie suggested that he might be every bit as good as the Republic of Ireland striker when he hit the winner from 25 yards on his IFA League debut against Barnsley in September 2010. Turns out he’s not, but he has a bloody good go of it. After starting at right back, Keano soon found his home in the centre of midfield, with his energetic performances making him one of the first names on the teamsheet. Appointed captain by Taylor in the summer of 2011, after an impressive first season had seen him crowned Players' Player of the Year. Derby’s finest, duck.
